Be Connected – technology courses for beginners

Be Connected is an Australian-wide program, with a wide range of beginner-level courses focusing on the use of daily technology and digital platforms. Courses include how to book online travel, how to use a smartphone, how to use a tablet/iPad and how to use search engines and the internet.

Running until the 13 September in WA is the Tablet and iPad Basics Course, offered for free at the Karrinyup Library.

Your Move Board Games Club

Are you a lover of board games? Then this one is for you! Running every Monday between 9:30am – 12:30pm, the Your Move Board Games Club meets at Subiaco Library to play chess, backgammon or mah-jong.

You don’t need to bring a thing! The Club provides the games – as well as free tea and coffee!

When: Every Monday, 9:30am – 12:30pm

Where: The Nook, Subiaco Library

Line Dancing

Did you know that dancing can help to prevent dementia and other cognitive decline? What a great reason to start kicking up your heels! It’s also a great place to learn something new, have fun and meet people.

The class is tailored to seniors and a range of mobility levels, so you don’t need to worry about not being fit or experienced enough.

Classes are run every Monday morning at the Osborne Community Centre – with Bingo followed straight afterwards if you want to hang around and continue the fun.

When: Every Monday, 10am – 12pm

Where: Osborne Community Centre, 11 Royal Street, Tuart Hill

High Tea

Treat yourself to some delicious freshly baked scones and a warming cup of tea. There’s nothing quite like a good high tea! Whether you want the full high tea experience, which a range of delicacies and matched beverages, or you’d rather just stick to the tradition jam and cream scones and English Breakfast, WA has some great options.
