What Is A Level 3 Home Care Package?

A Transitioned Home Care Package Level 3 supports people with intermediate care needs. You're allocated <strong>$42,055.30</strong> per year in funding. What Are Support at Home Classifications 3 and 4?

The Australian Government's new aged care reform, Support at Home (SAH), has replaced both the former Home Care Packages (HCPs) system and the Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) program. Support at Home now offers a single national program providing a unified framework with an expansive eight classification levels. Your Support at Home funding is held by Services Australia, not your provider – keeping you in greater control. When you've been assessed and allocated funding, our dedicated Care Advisers can explain exactly what your Classification means for your personal situation.

What Services Can I Access?

Your package can cover a wide range of services: gardening, house cleaning, social support, personal care (bathing, dressing), meal preparation, transport to appointments, allied health (physio, OT), and more. Your provider will work with you to create a care plan that fits your needs.

Does CareAbout's Service Cost Me Anything?

No. CareAbout's matching service is 100% free for customers. We vigorously vet the select providers we work with. For each successful referral, we're paid a fee from the provider. This is how we're able to continue CareAbout and helping older Australians and their families nationwide. There's no obligation either – you're free to choose any provider you like.

I Already Have A Home Care Package. What's Changed?

If you're already the recipient of a Home Care Package, your package remains unchanged. You're now "grandfathered in" under the new Support at Home (SAH) program, which automatically applies to new entrants. Either way, CareAbout can help you transition, find and/or switch to a better provider.

How Quickly Will I Be Matched?

Most families are matched within one phone call, which typically takes between 20-30 minutes (of course, every call is personal and will vary based on the extent of your needs). Our dedicated Care Advisers know which providers have availability in your area and only match you based on your specific needs, allocated budget and personal preferences.

Can I Switch My Current Provider?

Yes. CareAbout handles the entire switching process, which includes exit fees, the timing of your transition, and of course, ensures there's no gap in your care. Many families switch to get better service or lower fees, which we can also explain via a freecall to 13 13 00.
