Vivacious Couple Fran and Ken Obtain Quality Support at Home Post-Diagnoses

With six children and several years of overseas travel, Ken and Fran, are undoubtedly, a couple whom fully embrace life.

While vivacious and enthusiastic, Ken’s unexpected diagnosis of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s Disease, coupled with Fran’s Multiple Sclerosis (MS) diagnosis, has provided the otherwise full-of-life pair with an array of challenges that have made life at home much harder than usual.

With such limitations, both Fran and Ken would need additional support in order to continue residing safely at home. They knew they needed support, but they didn’t know where to begin. They were both unsure and confused about what support they’d be able to receive from a Home Care Package, and what provider would be the best fit for their unique, personal needs.

Home Modifications

CareAbout personally visited Fran and Ken in their home, where we helped to explain the Home Care Packages’ (HCPs) system* in a very simple, coherent way (without any fancy jargon or distancing terms) that they could both understand. It was during this visit that we thoroughly walked through their available options, with the sole intent to provide them both, with the ultimate confidence needed to select the right provider for their needs (and without compromise, stress, or confusion).

Ken’s Level 2 Home Care Package has allowed for greater assistance with the house maintenance and cleaning for the chores that have otherwise, increasingly, become too difficult.

Ken and Fran now continue to live their lives at home, and pursue their diverse interests, everywhere from seeing wonderful films to musicals and other shows in the city.
