What can Support at Home funding be used for?

Support at Home funds can be spent on a wide range of services that fall under three main categories: Everyday Living, Independence, and Clinical. Cleaning falls under the Everyday Living category, which includes help with household tasks such as gardening, shopping, laundry, and meal preparation.

Your funding is administered by an approved Support at Home provider who manages payments and care coordination. You’ll work with your provider to create a support plan that outlines the services you need to maintain safety and wellbeing at home.

What does Support at Home include?

Support at Home includes any care or services that help you live independently and safely at home. This can range from personal and clinical support to everyday help with cleaning, laundry, or light home maintenance. Cleaning remains one of the most frequently requested and approved services under the program.

How much does Support at Home cost?

Support at Home is a co-contribution program, meaning the government subsidises most of the cost, but you may be asked to contribute if your income allows. Your contribution is calculated through an Income-Tested Fee assessment conducted by Services Australia.

If you receive a full Age Pension, you generally will not need to contribute. Some providers may also charge a basic daily fee, but this is optional and not a government requirement.
