CareAbout Referral Incentive & Charity Donation Program – Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 13 October 2025

Issued by: CareAbout Holdings Pty Ltd (ABN 41 612 411 720)

1. Overview and Duration

1.1 CareAbout Holdings Pty Ltd (ABN 41 612 411 720) operates the CareAbout Referral Incentive & Charity Donation Program (the Program).

1.2 The Program rewards individuals, professionals, and organisations for referring people who successfully sign up with a provider through CareAbout and commence in-home services under the Support at Home system.

1.3 The Program recognises genuine referrals that help older Australians find quality care and support.

1.4 The Program commences on 13 October 2025 and continues until further notice. CareAbout may amend, suspend, or withdraw the Program at any time without notice.

1.5 Information on how to participate in the Program and the referral reward particulars form part of these Terms. To the extent of any inconsistency, these Terms prevail.

1.6 Participation in the Program constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

1.7 This Program is not combinable with any other CareAbout offer or promotion.

2. Eligibility

2.1 The Program is open to residents and organisations based in Australia.

2.2 Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of CareAbout Holdings Pty Ltd are not eligible to participate.

2.3 Referrals must be submitted via CareAbout’s official referral form or another authorised channel approved by CareAbout.

2.4 The referrer must obtain explicit consent from the person they refer before providing their details to CareAbout.

2.5 Referrers must ensure that participation does not breach their employer’s policies, professional code of conduct, or any applicable industry regulations.

2.6 The referred person must not have previously interacted with CareAbout (personally or through a third party) prior to the referral submission.

2.7 The referred person cannot reside at the same address as the referrer.

2.8 CareAbout may, at its sole discretion, decline to accept referrals for any reason, including suspected misuse or breach of these Terms.

3. Successful Referral Criteria

3.1 A successful referral occurs when the person referred (the Referred Individual):

  • Engages with CareAbout through an official channel,
  • Is successfully matched to a provider through CareAbout, and
  • Commences services with that provider.

3.2 “Commencement of services” means the date the provider confirms the first completed service delivery or invoice to CareAbout.

3.3 Referrals that do not result in a successful commencement of services do not qualify for an incentive.

3.4 Referrals remain valid for 12 months from the date they are submitted. Referrals resulting in commencement beyond this period will not qualify.

3.5 Multiple referrals of the same individual will be recognised only once and awarded to the first verified referrer, determined by the submission timestamp.

3.6 Self-referrals, where the Referrer and the Referred Individual are the same person, or where there is a direct financial interest between them (for example, a joint account holder or spouse acting on their own behalf), are not eligible for referral rewards or charity donations.

3.7 Any referral found to be misleading, fraudulent, or submitted without the Referred Individual’s genuine consent may be deemed invalid and excluded from the Program at CareAbout’s discretion.

4. Referral Fee

4.1 For each successful referral, the referrer will receive a referral fee of $300, payable either as an electronic funds transfer (EFT) to an Australian bank account or as a digital or physical voucher of equivalent value, at CareAbout’s discretion.

4.2 Payments or vouchers will be issued within 30 days of confirmation that the referral meets all success criteria.

4.3 The referrer will be required to provide valid payment or delivery details to receive the reward. Failure to provide these details within 30 days of notification may result in forfeiture of the reward.

4.4 Referral fees are awarded per individual and are not cumulative for multiple interactions with the same Referred Individual.

4.5 If a Referred Individual cancels or discontinues services before their first completed service, the referral will not be deemed successful.

4.6 If the referrer does not provide valid payment or delivery details within the specified timeframe, CareAbout may, at its discretion, make a charity donation of equal value on the referrer’s behalf.

4.7 Referral payments will not be made where CareAbout determines that the Referrer has referred themselves, their own household, or any party with whom they share a direct financial benefit.

5. Charity Donations

5.1 If a referrer is unable or not permitted to accept monetary incentives (for example, due to workplace, professional, or ethical restrictions), CareAbout will make a donation to a registered Australian charity with current DGR status nominated by the referrer.

5.2 The donation amount will correspond to the amount outlined in Section 4.1.

5.3 Donations will be made in CareAbout’s name with acknowledgment that the contribution was made on behalf of the referrer.

5.4 If the referrer does not nominate a charity within 14 days of being contacted, CareAbout may make the donation to a DGR-registered charity of its choosing.

5.5 Charity donations made in lieu of a referral payment do not create any taxation obligations for the referrer.

6. Taxation

6.1 Referral fees are considered a gesture of appreciation for a successful referral and are not employment income.

6.2 CareAbout does not withhold tax or superannuation from referral payments.

6.3 Referral fees may be assessable income for the recipient under Australian tax law. Referrers are encouraged to seek independent tax advice regarding their personal circumstances.

6.4 If the payment is made to a business or organisation, that entity is responsible for managing any GST and income-tax obligations in accordance with its usual accounting practices.

6.5 Where a charity donation is made instead of a payment, no taxable income arises for the referrer.

7. Program Conditions

7.1 CareAbout may amend, suspend, or discontinue the Program at any time without notice.

7.2 CareAbout reserves the right to disqualify referrals that are incomplete, fraudulent, or in breach of these Terms and Conditions.

7.3 The decision of CareAbout regarding eligibility, payment, or donation distribution is final and binding.

7.4 Referrals must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional codes of conduct, including those prohibiting inducements or “kickbacks.”

7.5 Incentives are not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash other than as stated in these Terms.

8.1 All personal information collected under this Program is handled in accordance with the CareAbout Privacy Policy (https://www.careabout.com.au/privacy).

8.2 By participating in the Program, the referrer and referred individual consent to CareAbout contacting them by phone, email, or SMS to discuss care options and program eligibility.

8.3 Participants may opt out of marketing communications at any time via the unsubscribe link or by contacting CareAbout directly.

8.4 CareAbout will not disclose personal information to third parties except as required to facilitate provider matching and payment processing.

8.5 The referrer indemnifies CareAbout against any claim from a referred individual alleging lack of consent for contact or referral.

9. Liability

9.1 CareAbout accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or claim arising from participation in the Program except to the extent required by law.

9.2 Nothing in these Terms limits rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

9.3 CareAbout accepts no responsibility for late, lost, or misdirected payments or donations due to incorrect information provided by the referrer.

10. Superseding Terms for Providers and Partners

10.1 These Terms apply to general referrals made by individuals, organisations, or third parties who are not operating under a separate commercial or provider agreement with CareAbout.

10.2 If a referral is made by a CareAbout Partner or contracted Provider with a current written agreement that includes referral, introduction, or credit note terms, those contractual terms will override and supersede these Terms to the extent of any inconsistency.

10.3 Referral recognition, eligibility, and payment (including credit notes or incentive amounts) for Providers or Partners will be governed by the terms, conditions, and fee structure outlined in their CareAbout contract.

10.4 Providers or Partners submitting introductions using CareAbout’s referral form acknowledge that their existing contractual terms apply in place of these public Terms and Conditions.
